It is Finished: He Hopes to Finish You (Part 1 of 2)

It is finished
Our Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit knowing and seeing all things, are not surprised that in our day and time, we would look around and see a culture, that is absorbing Christians into it, instead of the Christians transforming the culture into a culture of His Kingdom.

Subtly and gradually even our very cultural foundations are shifting, redefining what is evil and wicked into what is now ‘called’ normal and good; redefining foundational pillars of the Bible and of society, such as LoveMarriage and Family by simply attempting to change the very wording of the original definitions of these God Ordained institutions into something that kicks out God, thru legislation even.

Our Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit knew that in our day, especially in this Resurrection Sunday season, even governments would begin to use their resources and even their forces to try to decree and insist that ‘the Bible is archaic, outdated, and is an impediment to progress, and it is time for Christians to get out of the way and let the enlightened thinkers lead the way, so that we can solve the problems of this world, and We don't need or want God, especially Jesus, to do that.’

“But He was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed.” Isaiah 53:5 NLT

“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5 KJV

Many centuries before his birth, the “He” of which the prophet wrote and spoke was Jesus, the son of man… the Son of God. Not many decades after the Life, Ministry, Crucifixion, Death, Burial, Resurrection and Ascension of this same Jesus, the son of man….. the Son of God, the Apostle Paul declared,

“I want to Know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised Him from the dead. I want to suffer with Him, sharing in His death…”  Philippians 3:10 NLT

This same Paul had been many years earlier commissioned and ordained by Jesus Christ personally, after Paul repented from his many sins and accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and LORD. Paul went on to declare the Good News of the Kingdom of God to the entire known world of his day, raise the dead and to witness to anyone who would listen to him ,… the poor, the middle class, the religious regimes, the intellectuals and scholars and to kings and queens. He became the same man who is accurately credited by Biblical scholars for writing nearly two thirds (2/3) of the entire New Testament.

Yet, in spite of the years of his many exploits of spiritual and holy power and prowess assigned to him by the LORD, the Apostle Paul’s heart cry and prayers during the final years of his earthly ministry and life was still humbly and sincerely,

“… That I may Know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.”   Philippians 3:10-11 KJV

Most if not all, know about Jesus, which is why we celebrate in this season. But not many of us ‘Know Him’ or even desire to know him in the context that Paul constantly and continually craved. To “Know” means ‘to have actual, experiential and intimate contact with...'

During this Resurrection/Easter season of the year wherein we observe and celebrate the Death, Burial and Resurrection of Jesus, we should pause, ponder with prayer and ask ourselves, “Do I ‘know’ Him? Do I even desire to truly ‘know’ Him more and more?”

We must continue to look unto, look up to, and look into, the Word, the Eyes and the Heart of Jesus Christ as the Author and the Finisher, the Developer, the Furnisher, and the Completer of our Faith (Hebrews 12:2 KJV)  Why?  Because, although our Salvation is a free gift, … our free ticket to Heaven if you will, the  maturing from a child into a fully grown man or woman of God is not automatic and is not a free gift as when we are saved. As a born again believer and child of the Living God, our LORD is after more than only our status as a mere complacent citizen in His Kingdom by virtue of our new birth.

-------------------------------

Our LORD hopes to eventually gain a mature man or woman, a mature son or daughter whom He can entrust to operate and function with vast authority in His Kingdom Administration, and in His character and holiness. Galatians 4:19 KJV

But we must pay a price called ‘Choosing to Cooperate with Him’ in the process of our maturing through submissive obedience to His Word(s), His Will and His Way(s). We do this primarily by looking unto Jesus regularly and consistently, as we die daily to our words, our will and our ways. This is the only way the seed of Jesus Christ deposited in us at the new birth, can be formed (developed) into and unto a mature fully grown stature, the hope of glory…. His hope of Glory. Colossians 1:27

Finally, as we come to truly Know Him, we will fully realize and never forget, that though He was crucified and buried as Jesus the son of man, He was raised Jesus Christ, the Son of God, for in the purpose of our Father, “He was Born to Die, He Died to Rise, He Rose to Ascend and He Ascended to be Seated at the right hand of the Father, where He shall forever Rule and Reign.” Will you let Him finish His process of maturing You?

It is Finished: He Hopes to Finish You (Part 2 of 2)

Our Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit knew that in our day…… even governments would begin to use their resources and even their forces to try to decree and insist that “the Bible is archaic, outdated, and is an impediment to progress, and it is time for Christians to get out of the way and let the enlightened thinkers lead the way, so that we can solve the problems of this world, and We don't need or want God, especially Jesus, to do that.”’

The Apostle Paul declared,
“I want to Know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised Him from the dead. I want to suffer with Him, sharing in His death…” Philippians 3:10 NLT

Yes, in spite of the years of his many exploits of spiritual and holy power and prowess assigned to him by the LORD, the Apostle Paul’s heart cry and prayers during the final years of his earthly ministry and life was still humbly and sincerely,

“… That I may Know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.” Philippians 3:10-11 KJV

In order to come to know our LORD in the true sense and definition of the word ‘Know’, we must as Apostle Paul did throughout his earthly life, continue to earnestly look unto, look up to, and look into, the Word, the Eyes and the Heart of Jesus Christ as the Author and the Finisher, the Developer, the Furnisher, and the Completer of our FaithHebrews 12:2 KJV

Why? Because, it is only as we ‘grow’ in God, can we truly begin and continue to ‘Know’ our God. Again, I must emphasize, as a born again believer and child of the Living God, our LORD is after more than my status as a mere complacent citizen in His Kingdom by virtue of my new birth. I concluded last month’s article by stating the following which is worthy of repetition because it is so important to understanding the priority and Heart of our Father…

Our LORD hopes to eventually gain a mature man or woman, a mature son or daughter, in this life, whom He can entrust to operate and function with vast authority in His Kingdom Administration, and in His character and holiness. Galatians 4:19 KJV

We must pay a price called ‘Choosing to Cooperate with Him’ in the process of our maturing through submissive obedience to His Word(s), His Will and His Way(s).

Now for the rest of, “It Is Finished …. He Hopes To Finish You”

Although we must choose to cooperate with Him in the maturing process He has ordained for each of us by primarily looking unto and up to Jesus regularly and consistently as we die daily to our own words, our own will and our own ways, this is only Vertical submission. This must be the primary position of our mind, will, emotions, intellect and conscience, the ‘soul’, but it is not the only position of submission. Complete submissive obedience according to His Word(s), His Will and His Way(s) requires a much needed Horizontal submission as well.

What do I mean? Well, as I continue to look up to Jesus (Vertical submission) and learn of His Word(s), His Will and His Way(s), I will discover from the Father, Son and Holy Spirit that He desires to assign and use men and/or women of God, in my life at all seasons of my maturing process (Horizontal submission), for the duration of my earthly life.

-------------------------

I emphasize, He desires to assign and use them’…. but we must choose to submit to them and embrace them and the process of maturing fully (as unto the LORD) if we are to grow into a mature son or daughter of the Most High and Living God. It is His Word, His Will and His Way. In this principle and process, He does not change, has not changed and will not change. This aspect of His processing us for use in His Kingdom Administration is absolutely critical and mandatory in order for Him to get all that He is after from you and me after our new birth salvation.

I strongly encourage you to study the lives of ones such as Abram/Abraham, Jacob/Israel, Samuel, Saul, David, Elisha, Esther, Nehemiah, Apostle Paul, and most importantly even Jesus, the Son of God, the Son of man, to name a few. Throughout all of scriptural history you will see this mandatory pattern of God. Those whom He eventually trusted greatly were those persons having a strong and consistent sprit and attitude of Godly Vertical-Horizontal submission to the authority of God and the authority of man placed in their lives by the divine arrangements of God. Those who obediently continued in His process, completed their God ordained earthly assignments and purposes while pleasing God. Those who did not eventually failed in their God ordained assignments and purposes, and displeased God and those they were suppose to love and lead.

Therefore, we each must by His Grace always continue to Look Unto and Look Up to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. As a great example to us, the adolescent Jesus, stayed behind without His earthly parents even knowing where He was for three (3) days. Finally Mary and Joseph’s fearful search for Jesus ended when they found Him in the temple sitting with the men of God listening to them and asking questions and conversing with them concerning the things of the scriptures. It was there that Jesus the son of man had also gotten the revelation of who His true Father was. ‘When they saw him they were amazed and his mother said unto him, Son, why have you done this to us? Your father and I have been frantic, searching for you everywhere.’ Jesus replied, “Why did you need to search? Didn’t you know that I must be in my Father’s house?” (Vertical submission to God) Luke 2:45-49 NLT

Jesus actually declared to them in that moment… ‘I now know who my real Father is.. the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, not Joseph your husband.’ But nonetheless, “He went down with them and came to Nazareth and was {habitually} obedient to them…” (Horizontal submission to manLuke 2:51 AMP

Thereafter, from the age of twelve (12) years old until he was about thirty (30) years of age, the bible speaks virtually nothing of him. But because he humbly spent these eighteen (18) years of his life in Vertical (God) and Horizontal (man) submission to the Word(s), Will and Way(s) of our Father, “…. Jesus increased in wisdom (in broad and full understanding) and in stature and years, and in favor with God and man.” Luke 2:52 AMP Also, closely consider Jesus’ submission to John the Baptist the man of God (Horizontal-Vertical submission) before he ever even began His earthly ministry and performed his first miracle. This should speak volumes to each of us as well and settle this issue once and for all. Matthew 3:13-17 NLT, AMP, NKJV

In closing, I can hear our Father asking and beseeching us… “Will you allow Me to complete My process of maturing You?

He is a FATHER First: Tribute to the Father of all Fathers and to all Dads Everywhere

Istock 522798256
The dictionary defines the word ‘Father’ as, "A male parent;  a man who exercises paternal care over other persons;  a male protector and provider;  a person who has originated or established something, as in the phrase,… our founding fathers." The word ‘Fatherhood’ is defined as, "the state of or the responsibility of being a Father.”

Now concerning the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, history and written recordings from the annuls of time show very little if any evidence of mankind considering any of its numerous and diverse objects of worship or so-called gods as being a father figure per se.

Likewise, the Holy Scripture, our Bible, has most of its references to the word and concept of 'Father' when considering and describing the LORD of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, located not the Old Testament, but in the New Testament.

When Jesus was asked by His disciples "Teach us to pray..." the very first and most important part of His response was extremely revealing not only to His disciples, but to all Hebrews and the Nation of Israel of His day as a whole.

Likewise, with the same Spirit of revelation, Jesus’ response over 2000 years ago is especially relevant to each of us this very day. Why do I say this?

Prior to the appearing of the Son of God on the face of the earth and on the scene, the Hebrew Nation and its people, from Genesis and throughout the entire Old Testament understood the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob gradually and progressively as God, Yaweh, Jehovah, Creator, The Almighty, The Omnipotent One, The Omniscient One, The LORD of Host, Savior, and Redeemer just to name a few. Each and every one of the above were and are very accurate and very important descriptions of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel.

But when Jesus taught them how to properly and most accurately approach, greet and address the Great God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, He didn't tell them and us today to say, ‘Oh Jehovah or Oh Yaweh or Almighty One or Oh Great and Benevolent Creator of the Universe’ even. He didn't teach them and you and me to say ‘Oh Holy One of Israel and all Nations of the Earth’, even though each and everyone would be correct and accurate descriptions and acknowledgments of our LORD.

Rather, at this Pivotal moment in all of the existence of time, Jesus who knows the True and Living God better than anyone has ever known Him or will ever know Him, didn't even teach us when we pray to greet, approach and address our LORD and God as ‘Oh Great Savior’... not even as ‘Oh Great Redeemer.’

But Jesus, the only begotten Son of the True and Living God chose to teach them and us to pray by first saying with a sincere and reverent heart, "OUR FATHER" ... He said unto them, “when you pray, say, OUR FATHER, which art in Heaven…" Luke 11:1-2

Why? Because above and beyond all of the other accurate descriptions and characteristics of our LORD, is the fact that He is a FATHER first. And Jesus personally and experientially knew that. He very much wants each of us to personally and experientially Know this as well. So much so that He endured being crucified on a Cross.

As a Father, God had to have a Son. Our Father was so delighted and pleased with this Son of His, even from before the foundations of this world He decided that He wanted to have many, many, more sons and daughters just like His Son Jesus.

Therefore, in the fullness of His time, He decided and said, "Now let Us make man"Proverbs 8: 22-31

The Primary DEFINITION of Man and PURPOSE of Prayer

Purpose prayer
WHAT IS MAN?

This word “man”, when traced back to its earliest definition means ‘A creature who is designed to and desires to ask, seek, pray to, connect  to and communicate with his Creator.’  Therefore, to pray to and seek God is first and foremost what we were literally made and designed to be about. It’s in our DNA, so to speak.

Naturally and Spiritually, Man was and is created and wired to be:

DEPENDENT upon God (a vertical posture), and INTERDEPENDENT with others (a horizontal posture, both of which meet to form a Cross),… but Never EverINDEPENDENT of  or  from God. Incidentally, this is why God is never pleased with an Independent Spirit operating within His children or His sons and daughters, when it comes to anything having to do with His Church, His Body and/or His Kingdom.

WHAT IS THE PRIMARY PURPOSE FOR PRAYER?

Considering all of the above concerning the Definition of Man, GOD, in His infinite Wisdom, established the Principle, the Institution and the Requirement of Prayer, not only so that He can meet our needs when we often ask Him (man’s primary reason or motive for praying), but primarily so that He, if we cooperate with Him, can develop and mature us (His primary purpose for Prayer)… through the regular, routine and consistent Process of our COMING, COMMUNING, CONVERSING AND COMMUNICATING with Him. This Process is always initiated through Prayer. But ultimately, the fruit of a life laced with God’s consistent prayer and process, is Intercession in action. Intercession is what He is after, in and from His sons and daughters.

Intercession =  is primarily a continuous walk of submissive obedience to the instructions, promptings and leadings of the LORD (thru the Holy Spirit).

Jesus Christ, the Reason for this Season, was born KING - MATTHEW 2:2

Christ birth
Approximately 2 years after Jesus had been born in a manger in the town of Bethlehem of Judea, wise men finally arrived asking, " Where is He who has been born King." Please notice, not 'born Prince' not 'born Heir to a throne' but "Born KING".

This Christmas season, we and those we love and lead, will be wise and do well to embrace this revelation, historical fact and reality. Jesus Christ, from the womb of Mary, entered this earth and world and immediately assumed the Throne of the Kingdom of His Father, ( the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel ) as LORD of Lords and The KING of all Kings.

Have a very Merry and Blessed Christmas Season as we enter the Year of our LORD 2015
